UGI Hosts STEM Panel at Learning Center

10 Mar 2025

As an energy provider, UGI Utilities relies on professionals with STEM skills to deliver safe and reliable energy to our customers. It is important for UGI to continue to pursue innovation and ensure there are talented people to drive that innovation. We are committed to inspiring future STEM professionals by supporting programs that teach students the necessary skills to enter the workforce.

UGI Utilities recently hosted nearly 100 local students involved in the Chief Science Officer program at UGI’s Learning Center for a day-long event that included a STEM career panel discussion, a tour of the Learning Center, and professional development activities.

The STEM panel included UGI employees from the engineering, IT, and pipeline safety departments. Students asked the panel questions about how to be a leader, conflict resolution, problem solving and their paths to get to their current career. Students also asked the two women panelists how they navigated a career in a male-dominated industry.

“This STEM event included many students from several school districts who were very engaged and interested in STEM professions,” said Pam J., VP of EHS & Technical Support, who participated in the panel. “They openly asked great questions to the panel and some insightful dialogues occurred afterwards. I was really impressed at how well-behaved and attentive they were. I followed up personally with a few and met a few others afterwards to speak with them. It was a very well run and enjoyable event, and a great way to showcase our Learning Center to future STEM leaders.”

UGI Utilities is proud to support local students and inspire them to become the next generation of STEM professionals!
