We Are UGI: Energy To Do More Volunteer Award

22 May 2024

During Volunteer Month in April, UGI Utilities introduced the first annual Energy To Do More Volunteer Award, in an effort to recognize and celebrate one UGI Utilities employee who goes above and beyond in supporting their community.

Amanda M., Customer Care Supervisor, was selected as the winner of the first-ever Energy To Do More Volunteer Award!

Amanda has volunteered countless times over the course of her employment at UGI, both through UGI-sponsored events and in her personal life. Not only does Amanda dedicate a significant amount of time to volunteering herself, she also encourages her team of employees to participate as well. Amanda is involved in her community as a Girl Scout leader where she creates a safe place for young women to develop leadership skills. She also routinely participates in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser, Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity home builds, Valley Santa gift wrapping, and food security events.

“I am thrilled for Amanda and especially grateful for all the employees who nominated some terrific volunteers,” said Ann B., Community Relations Manager – North Region. “We are truly blessed to have so many dedicated employees who are also awesome volunteers. I have known Amanda for over 25 years and when you think of Amanda, if the first thing that comes to mind isn’t volunteering then it is family. It was not unusual for Amanda’s daughters to participate in a company or community volunteer event; and now, as a grandmother, she will instill her community-minded spirit in another generation. Her commitment to work, family, and community is inspiring.”

Congratulations Amanda, and thank you for your dedication to helping others in our community!
