Committed to the Delivery of Safe and Reliable Energy

UGI Utilities is committed to proactively replacing non-contemporary gas mains to ensure the continued delivery of safe and reliable energy. Through an unprecedented $3 billion investment spanning 2020 through 2029, UGI has committed to one of Pennsylvania’s most comprehensive natural gas infrastructure modernization programs.
In 2025, UGI Utilities upgraded approximately 62 miles of cast iron and bare steel gas mains with more contemporary materials such as high-density plastic and protected steel.
Modernizing our pipelines also helps to significantly reduce emissions by minimizing methane leaks and improving the overall efficiency of the natural gas delivery system.
As the 2025 construction season concludes, UGI Utilities is preparing to replace even more miles of natural gas mains next year. UGI Utilities expects to replace between 60-70 miles of pipeline in 2026.
Currently over 90 percent of UGI Utilities’ 13,000 miles of pipelines are made of contemporary material – the highest proportion among Pennsylvania’s major natural gas distribution companies.
