Local Students Visit UGI’s Pollinator Garden at Denver Headquarters

29 Jul 2025

UGI Utilities’ Denver Headquarters recently hosted campers from Manheim Township Nature Camp and Lancaster Science Factory to explore and learn more about our three-acre pollinator garden.

Establishing a pollinator garden presents an opportunity to improve the appearance of the grounds and provide habitat for important fauna and flora. The multi-year pollinator garden project not only provides habitat for pollinators, but also reduces stormwater runoff, improves water quality, and reduces maintenance costs at the Denver campus.

Students participated in a variety of activities, including a scavenger hunt throughout the pollinator garden, birdhouse decorating, and a watershed demonstration from Berks Nature. UGI Utilities employees helped to facilitate the activities and teach the students about pollinator gardens and why they are important.

“It is great to see the excitement from the kids in the community to learn about our pollinator garden. It is also great to see the commitment UGI has to the community and the opportunities they provide for the employees to get involved in volunteering events,” says UGI employee volunteer Tom M.

Students also received “pollinator packets” that were assembled by UGI Utilities employees. The packets contain seeds, activities, and information about establishing pollinator gardens at home.

UGI Utilities is proud to help inspire the next generation of STEM professionals!
