We Are UGI: Helping Neighbors In Need Have a Happy Holiday Season

20 Dec 2024

UGI Utilities is proud of our employees’ dedication and generosity to the communities in which they live and work. UGI employees have been busy volunteering to ensure their neighbors in need have a happy holiday season:

UGI employees with Santa
Employees donated gifts and winter gear to children in the Back Mountain Head Start classroom.
  • UGI continued its annual tradition of adopting the Back Mountain Head Start classroom in Luzerne County. Employees generously provided each child with an outfit, coat, hat, and gloves which were handed out by Santa during a classroom visit. In addition, a toy for each student was wrapped and sent home to be opened on Christmas Day. In total, UGI employees helped spread holiday cheer to 28 children.
  • The UGI Archbald office supported Toys for Tots. Employee John C. collects the donation in conjunction with the American Legion Post 665 in Dickson City to help make the holiday special for area children.
UGI employees put together personal care kits for local children.
Employees put together personal care kits for Denver-area children.
  • At our Headquarters Building in Denver, employees packed 150 personal care kits that were distributed through Real Life Community Services to the children who receive gifts through the Neighborhood Santa program. In an additional volunteer effort, UGI employees also assisted in sorting, organizing, and packing gift bags for children registered to receive gifts through the Neighborhood Santa program.
  • The holidays will be brighter for 20 children in the Allison Hill neighborhood of Harrisburg City this year due to generous gifts from UGI employees and our partnership with Wildheart Ministries – Love the Hill.

Employees donated coats to Salvation Army Allentown and helped to sort them for distribution.
  • UGI Utilities employees in the Lehigh office participated in a volunteer project to sort coats donated to the Salvation Army Allentown through WFMZ and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Coat Drive. Employees also donated coats to the drive, which will support Salvation Army programs, including Foster Care and Adoption programs. Employees at the Lehigh office also participated in the Salvation Army Allentown Angel Tree program to provide ten local children with gifts for the holidays.
  • In an effort to honor veterans, reservists, VA hospitals, and National Guard members in the Lehigh Valley, employees signed holiday greeting cards through the American Red Cross Holiday Cards for Heroes program.

Employees organized and packed boxes for distribution to children registered in Salvation Army Harrisburg’s Angel Tree program.
  • UGI employee volunteers assisted in organizing and packing gifts for Harrisburg-area children registered in the annual Angel Tree program. Each Christmas, the Salvation Army Harrisburg provides new toys, clothing, and meals for more than 1,500 families and over 4,000 children.
  • During New Bethany’s Luminaria Night, 4,000 homes in Bethlehem lit luminaries along neighborhood streets and sidewalks to remember those in need this holiday season. Employees assembled bags of sand and luminaria kits for the fundraiser, which supports New Bethany’s efforts to help those who experience poverty, hunger, and homelessness in the Lehigh Valley.

Employees wrapped gifts for local children in partnership with Valley Santa.
  • Valley Santa serves 4,000 children throughout Luzerne County. UGI employees volunteered with the organization to wrap donated presents for the children they serve.
  • Employees Will E. and Jeremy S. continued their annual tradition of organizing a gift collection at UGI’s Williamsport office for Toys for Tots.
  • Employees at UGI’s Reading office generously donated presents to support a local family through Opportunity House, a nonprofit dedicated to providing security, stability, safety, and community to clients.  In addition to presents, employees also collected coats, shoes, socks, hats and gloves for the family.

UGI and its employees are committed to supporting the communities we serve, not just during the holidays, but all throughout the year.
