Want to cut down on energy costs? Take advantage of the UGI Electric SaveSmart Prescriptive Lighting Program and switch to energy-efficient lighting.

LED lighting can save you up to 50 percent on energy costs, while fluorescent lighting can lower energy use by 25 percent or more.

Advances in lighting technologies mean upgrading to high-efficiency lighting goes beyond changing lamps and bulbs. Whether it’s reconfiguring your lamp layout or installing occupancy sensors so lights only turn on when needed, we can help you find the best solution, while maximizing incentive eligibility.

Prescriptive lighting incentives will be calculated at $0.07/kWh – up to 50% of total project cost or $100,000.

To be eligible for incentives, participants must submit a completed application within 180 days of the project completion date. Lights must be ENERGY STAR® rated or must meet the requirements of DLC SSL v5.1 to be eligible for incentives.

How to Apply for an Incentive:

Applying for our Business Incentive Program is simple. If you’re a non-residential UGI Electric customer, you’re eligible to earn incentives toward energy efficiency improvements.

Pre-approval of the project continues to be recommended and encouraged to accurately calculate savings and incentives (required for Direct Discount). Final application must be received within 180 days of the project completion date.

Just follow the steps below to apply:

1. Submit an incentive application

After energy efficiency projects are identified, complete the paper application  and gather all required project information.

Required documentation includes: 

Submit the complete application and all supporting documentation by emailing UGIElectricBusinessRebates@clearesult.com.

2. Pre on-site or phone verification

If we didn’t assist in the initial assessment, our program team may need to verify the facility or project details for pre-approval purposes. 

Based on the application’s timelines and scope, we will verify preliminary incentives and energy savings. Once reviewed and approved, we will send a pre-approval letter via email outlining your project’s estimated savings and incentive.

*Incentives are not reserved until the pre-approval letter is sent.

3. Installation

Once pre-approval is received, the customer/contractor will then move forward with the chosen project. Please notify us immediately of any changes to the project scope, equipment selection, or timeline. 

4. Submit Payment Request and Required Documentation

Upon completion of the project, a payment request email will need to be submitted to UGIElectricBusinessRebates@clearesult.com. This email needs to include:

  • Details of any scope changes
  • Project completion date
  • Project invoice

This email will initiate the final engineering review. If needed, a phone or onsite verification will be scheduled to verify project details.

5. Receive your incentive check

Once your final application has been approved, an incentive check will be sent to the contact specified in the application. The incentives are issued approximately 4 to 6 weeks after project approval.
